The reforestation project of the sides of the access road to the community of Carlos Real, located in the operating environment of the Norte Durango combined cycle power plant in Mexico, has recently been completed.
The Combined-Cycle Power Plants of Global Power Generation in Mexico continuously operate with very high capacity factors due to a certain level of surplus capacity; i.e. the difference between the maximum output that can be produced and the long-term contracted power contract with the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE).
In January 2017, GPG received permission to launch operations in the Mexican market with 30 MW of power from the Norte Durango Combined Cycle Power Plant, a facility that began operating commercially in August 2010. Its construction, which began in early 2008, led to a transformation in Durango by being one of the largest construction projects undertaken in the State.
