GPG Australia hosts a Community Information Day for Glenellen Solar Farm

Well-attended Information Day to know more about GPG Australia’s first New South Wales Solar Farm.

Global Power Generation Australia (GPG Australia) was pleased to hold a Community Information Day on 14th August 2024 for the Glenellen Solar Farm project located at Jindera (NSW). The event, aimed at informing and engaging the local community, was well attended by residents from the surrounding area.

The local community had the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of the solar farm, including its contribution to clean energy, potential local job creation, and environmental sustainability. The project team were on hand to provide detailed insights into the project’s timeline, technology, and impact on the local community.

Attendees could ask questions, share feedback, and discuss any concerns they may have. The event also featured displays, brochures, newsletters and company merchandise.

“We are thrilled with the positive response from the community,” said Philip Beattie, Community & Stakeholder Engagement Officer for the Glenellen Solar Farm. “The Community Information Day allowed us to address key topics and ensure that our neighbors are fully informed about the project. We are committed to maintaining open lines of communication as we move forward”.

The solar farm is expected to begin its construction phase in the next few weeks, and once fully commissioned it will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 80,000 Australian homes per year and will reduce carbon emissions by 385,000 tonnes.

GPG Australia extends its gratitude to all who attended and contributed to the success of the event. We look forward to continued collaboration with the community as the project progresses.
