Technological innovation supporting generation

The Combined-Cycle Power Plants of Global Power Generation in Mexico continuously operate with very high capacity factors due to a certain level of surplus capacity; i.e. the difference between the maximum output that can be produced and the long-term contracted power contract with the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE).

Committed to health and safety in Kenya

Our goal is to prioritise safety by maintaining the five basic principles established in the “Health and Safety Commitment” at the forefront of everyone’s minds: nothing is more important than health and safety; every accident can be avoided; safety is a management responsibility; it is also an individual responsibility; and all work should be planned and carried out with safety in mind.

GPG joins wholesale electricity market in Mexico

In January 2017, GPG received permission to launch operations in the Mexican market with 30 MW of power from the Norte Durango Combined Cycle Power Plant, a facility that began operating commercially in August 2010. Its construction, which began in early 2008, led to a transformation in Durango by being one of the largest construction projects undertaken in the State.

GPG receives AENOR certifications

Global Power Generation was subject to an extraordinary audit by the Spanish Standardisation and Certification Association (AENOR) and was awarded certifications of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Health and safety

Health and safety: prevention is the key

Prevention is one of the main key strategic action areas for Global Power Generation, which is mainly aimed at eradicating workplace accidents and respecting the health of all those working at facilities managed by GPG.
