The Durango Norte combined cycle power plant (Mexico) contributes to the reforestation of the Carlos Real community

reforestacion-durango-2019 Combined cycle

The reforestation project of the sides of the access road to the community of Carlos Real, located in the operating environment of the Norte Durango combined cycle power plant in Mexico, has recently been completed.

The power plant actively collaborated in the project of planting holm oaks, poplars and ash trees, as well as other species. These will form a natural hedgerow of three kilometres to the entry of the village. The project is a response to a proposal from the secondary-school students in Carlos Real, but teachers and community members also took part.

This contribution complies with Naturgy’s social commitment in the communities in its operating environment, and with its environmental commitment as reforestation is an essential way to combat global warming.
