These farms are located in the vicinity of our Bií Hioxo wind farm.
The inhabitants of the communities near the Laguna Superior, located in the south-east of Oaxaca (Mexico), suffer from the effects of pollution and overexploitation of resources in this natural area.
Therefore, this project, carried out in the vicinity of our Bií Hioxo wind farm, has managed to create a positive synergy for the environment with the fishermen and their families, as it proposes cultivating fish in their hatcheries to provide resources while the lagoon recovers and fishing activity in the area returns to normal.
We have provided the fishermen with the necessary tools to carry out this activity, through training in aquaculture and the environment, and in October 2022 the productive aquaculture project began, with the aim of guaranteeing the long-term well-being of the communities.
We continue to show our strong commitment to care for the environment and reinforce the importance of social management in the areas surrounding our facilities.
