We participated in the “Women in Energy ” forum in Western Australia

The employee Shahmir Mohajerani (Shaq) recently took part as a speaker at the Women in Energy forum in Western Australia, an event organised by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). The forum brought together industry leaders to discuss gender equity, inclusion, and leadership within the energy sector.

Held on 8 May, the forum brought together leaders from across the energy sector to reflect on inclusion, gender equity, and the transformation of our industry. Shaq was invited to share his perspective on inclusive leadership, innovation, and the role of male allies in driving cultural change.

The event featured discussions on the challenges and opportunities in achieving a more inclusive energy sector, aligning with AEMO’s commitment to the Equal by 30 initiative, which aims to close the gender gap in the energy sector by 2030.

Shaq’s contribution to the forum reflects our ongoing efforts to promote equity and representation within our organisation and the broader energy community.

“It was great to be part of the panel discussion at the Women in Energy Perth forum in May regarding Navigating WA’s Renewable Integration and the challenges involved for this transition. Policy frameworks, coordination, resources, and market signals, being key considerations, and a lot of firm supply in the form of energy storage needed to get there” , told Shaq Mohajerani from development team in Australia.
