GPG Australia hosts their second Community Information Sessions with the Darling wind farm

On the 16th and 17thof september, GPG Australia hosted up to 40 attendees from the community to share information about the construction and operation of the wind farm

Following a suggestion from the community, they were held at the Noorat Community Centre and the Mortlake Recreation Reserve, and attendees included landowners, immediate neighbours, residents, local business owners and representatives from the local council. They GPGA project team were present to welcome attendees, discuss the project layout an respond to questions about both the development and operation of the wind farm.

In both locations, several information tables were set up, displaying:

  • Project layout and key facts 
  • Planning application process, current stage and tentative timeframe
  • Noise Impact assessment
  • Visual Impact assessment and photomontages
  • Biodiversity findings
  • Proposed Community Benefit sharing framework including a feedback survey

Specialists, including planning consultants, ecologists and an acoustic engineer were also present to answer questions and provide detailed information on the planning, construction and operation processes. 

By the end of the day, attendees provided valuable feedback and local insights, which the Darlington wind farm development team will take into consideration for the planning process and the general progress towards constructions and operation.
