CCC Hermosillo and the Bií Hioxo Wind Farm organize training experiences for students in Mexico

CCC Hermosillo and the Bií Hioxo Wind Farm opened their doors to students from different educational centers across Mexico during the last quarter of 2025.

The first visits took place at CCC Hermosillo, which welcomed on October 31 a group of 12 students and one professor from the Universidad del Valle, Hermosillo campus—students of Mechatronics, Industrial, and Systems Engineering.

On November 6, the plant received a second group of 30 students from the Electrical, Electronics, and Semiconductor Engineering programs.

The visit, held within the framework of the IEEE Congress and supervised by Professor Hilario Mayboca, aimed to strengthen the knowledge acquired in the classroom through direct observation of electricity generation processes.

During the tours, students explored the plant’s operational processes, gaining deeper insight into the systems that transform energy resources into electricity, guided by Rodolfo Coronado Quijada (Safety and Warranty Technician). These experiences allowed them to connect theory with practice, fostering interest in technological development and energy efficiency.

Meanwhile, at the Bií Hioxo Wind Farm, visits were organized through its community center, Nacanu’ Bií, welcoming students from three different institutions in the southeast of the country.

On October 22, Renewable Energy Engineering students from the University of Sciences and Arts of Chiapas (UNICACH) began this series of visits. They were followed on November 7 by Electrical Engineering students from the Oaxaca Institute of Technology (ITO), and finally, on November 14, by postgraduate students in Renewable Energy from the University of the Isthmus.

Each day included informational sessions and guided tours of the wind farm, covering topics such as industrial safety, wind turbine components, control room operations, and the project’s social aspects. These activities offered students a comprehensive understanding of the wind energy generation process and its impact on the surrounding environment.

Technical guidance was provided by supervisors Héctor Yariel Márquez Osornio and Noelí Rodríguez Jiménez, who shared their expertise and answered questions, enriching the experience with specialized knowledge.

These academic visits reflect the joint efforts of educational institutions and companies in the energy sector to train professionals committed to innovation and sustainability. In this way, both CCC Hermosillo and the Bií Hioxo Wind Farm are consolidating themselves as learning spaces that inspire new generations to contribute actively to the country’s energy transformation.
