Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs
Committed to actively contributing to the global achievement of the 17 SDGs

Our sustainable business strategy demonstrates our commitment to the 2030 Agenda.
In August 2015, the United Nations (UN) presented the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, establishing 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 associated targets. Although these goals are primarily addressed to governments and public administrations, companies are recognized as playing a fundamental role in their achievement.
At Naturgy, we analyze each of these targets and align ourselves with these universal challenges through two approaches:
- Direct, through initiatives, programs, or actions that contribute to a specific target.
- Indirect, through the impact generated by our policies and practices in the countries where we operate.

How we apply them
- Identifying future business opportunities
- Enhancing the value of corporate sustainability
- Strengthening relationships with stakeholders
- Stabilizing societies and markets
- Using a common language and a shared purpose
We contribute to the achievement of this goal by promoting the safety, health, and well-being of our employees, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
One of our objectives is to develop professionals who lead change. To this end, we provide a continuous learning environment with methodologies, tools, and knowledge that foster professional growth, connecting our people with trends, technologies, and best practices, and strengthening skills and competencies linked to our leadership model.
For this reason, the Corporate University is one of our key transformation levers, serving people and businesses alike, contributing to value creation and the achievement of our objectives. We have three complementary academies that enable our teams to address present and future challenges through continuous learning, leadership development, and the adoption of new ways of working: Transformational Leadership, Tech Academy, and Extended Academy.
Promoting diversity and equal opportunities and maintaining an environment of respect, active listening, and ongoing dialogue are fundamental to us. We pay particular attention to achieving gender-related objectives and to the inclusion of people with disabilities, extending this commitment to suppliers and partner companies.
This commitment is reflected, from a global perspective, in our Sustainability and People strategies, as well as in the Gender Equality Policy and the Workplace Harassment Prevention Protocol. The Equality Plan identifies strengths to be maintained and weaknesses to be addressed, as identified by an external expert, and sets out actions in areas such as communication and awareness, culture and leadership, development and promotion, compensation, flexibility and work-life balance, recruitment, harassment prevention, measurement, and monitoring.
Water consumption is one of the key indicators of our responsible environmental management. Continuous measurement of the water footprint of our activities is
carried out, along with water stress analysis and studies and projects aimed at reducing consumption. It is worth noting that in GPG more than 90% of the water consumed comes from reclaimed sources.
We are committed to the sustainable development of society by ensuring the supply of competitive, secure energy with the utmost respect for the environment.
This has always been the case, but in these particularly significant times for the energy sector and society as a whole, we further reinforce our commitment to combating climate change and protecting the environment. The energy transition represents a unique opportunity to transform the company and contribute firmly and consistently to the decarbonization of the economy.
We conduct our activities with a commitment to ensuring decent work in all the locations where we operate. To this end, we apply a Human Rights Policy that includes, among other principles, the eradication of child labor, the promotion of freedom of association, and the provision of decent employment.
We carry out ESG assessments and audits of suppliers, promote local sourcing, and participate in the First Export Program.
We maintain a strong commitment to industry and infrastructure, which is reflected in the various projects driven by innovation.
Innovation is one of our key growth levers, as it enables the incorporation of new or improved practices, business models, and technologies that make the company more efficient and competitive, always at the forefront and with the customer at the center of all efforts.
Our approach to innovation allows us to transform risks into opportunities, contributing to the creation of an agile company capable of thriving in a context of constant transformation.
We are pioneers within the group in hybridization, with the commissioning of the Cunderdin photovoltaic solar plant in Australia, as well as the first battery storage facility in Queanbeyan, Australia.
Investment in social initiatives in the areas surrounding our facilities to promote access to education and economic development for more disadvantaged populations.
We maintain a commitment to responsible production and consumption that goes beyond legal requirements, implementing actions to reduce the consumption of resources, water, and energy.
We also carry out educational initiatives with our stakeholders, such as environmental training for employees and awareness-raising among suppliers and customers.
At the same time, we are committed to sustainability throughout our supply chain. In addition to promoting local sourcing, we encourage compliance with the company’s ethical codes and policies across the supply chain and incorporate sustainability criteria into supplier evaluation and management processes, beyond regulatory compliance.
In the management of discharges, studies are carried out on the quality of water from thermal power plants once treated. The results of these analyses ensure that the company does not generate significant impacts on aquatic ecosystems.
We also establish partnerships with third parties, particularly conservation organizations and public institutions, to carry out actions such as coastal clean-up initiatives and the protection of marine species.
We implement actions for the protection and conservation of species and natural areas beyond legal requirements, conduct environmental diagnostic studies around our facilities, and carry out education and awareness-raising activities with stakeholders.
Integrity and trust are among the key challenges we address in a coordinated manner. We believe that the entire organization must operate under a consistent approach, framed by the company’s Code of Ethics and supported by a compliance management model.
The regulatory framework is based on the Code of Ethics and is complemented by the Supplier Code of Ethics, the Criminal Prevention Model, the Compliance Policy, the Anti-Corruption Policy, the Human Rights Policy, and other standards and control models that ensure the effectiveness of operations across all areas of the company.
Internal audit is an independent and objective assurance activity that safeguards the overall control system of the company and compliance with both external and internal regulations.
Our commitment to integrity involves understanding and managing not only our own risks, but also considering and incorporating into decision-making the potential impacts our activities may have on people and the environment. With this premise, the Human Rights Policy is particularly relevant, as through its ten commitments it considers stakeholders who may be affected by the company’s activities, with special attention to the most vulnerable groups.
