2023 Health and Safety Challenge – Bike Ride in Tuxpan, Mexico

The event took place on May 19, 24, and 30 with an average turnout of 15 participants.

Its remarkable success has led to a change in the original schedule, which was initially scheduled to take place every 15 days. Now, the event is being held at least once a week due to its popularity.

The use of bicycles is classified by WHO as a tool for achieving 11 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the targets agreed in the Paris Accords to reduce pollutant emissions, due to their individual and collective use at local and global levels.

Cycling promotes healthy, safe, and sustainable urban mobility while also contributing to the improvement of physical health by reducing obesity and overweight issues. Additionally, cycling helps to minimise air pollution, noise levels, and alleviate feelings of isolation and loneliness.

We want to be healthier, stronger and more resilient.
