Bií Hioxo presented the grand prize of the fourth National Photography Competition “My life and the wind”

Every year, the contest has a specialised jury made up of representatives of the media and photographers, as well as the president of the AMDEE, Leopoldo Rodríguez Olivé.

The partner companies give out three prizes for each category: “community and the wind”, “work and the wind”; and “environment and the wind”, and there is also a grand prize, chosen by the jury.

These categories intend to capture the way in which the wind turbines and the people who live around them coexist, as well as those who work and forge bonds of friendship and companionship on a day-to-day basis.

Under the rules of the competition, photographers are asked to include a text about the photograph, their intentions at the time of taking the photo, and the moment and/or relevance to the category.

For this year’s edition, our wind farm Bií Hioxo, was the contributor of the grand prize (a mini pro drone) which was won by Francisco Javier Luis Santiago from the isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca with his photograph entitled “For a job of opportunity, a timely worker”, about which he wrote the following: “This picture shows us that safety plays an important role in the work involving wind energy, as workers are exposed to working at heights. However, with the right knowledge and equipment, the sky is the limit.”

The competition had a large number of entries (more than 100 photographs from 17 Mexican states) and, consequently, the jury and organizing committee decided to award three honorable mentions, one per category.
