The Bií Hioxo wind farm, through the area of Community Relations, participated in the festivities in honour of the “Holy Sacred Heart of Jesus” held on 7 June in the Seventh Section of Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca.
From the Culture and Education axis, the aim is to continue promoting actions that lead to the preservation of the customs and traditions that form part of our identity as Zapotecs.
On 7 June, this traditional parade took place in the main streets of Juchitán in honour of the Saint of the “Sacred Heart of Jesus”, where the faithful and devotees, followed by their faith, join in to celebrate this day. Flowers, fruit, stuff, souvenirs, toys and sweets are thrown along the route, where men, women and children participate with great enthusiasm and devotion.
It is also important to highlight the participation of the children of the pre-Hispanic music club, who alongside their captains, delighted us during the tour with the typical sounds of the festivities, thus showing their commitment to themselves by continuing to perfect their musical skills. Thus, they show to the community the skills they are acquiring by taking part in the music workshop, not only pre-Hispanic music, but also by playing an instrument in a local band.
With actions like these, through its Bií Hioxo wind farm, GPG Mexico contributes to the teaching of young people and children, trying to instil musical skills that will help strengthen concentration and socialisation, as well as encourage discipline and perseverance.
