For the third consecutive year, GPG has proudly sponsored the APSON Tour — a cycling race that begins in Agua Prieta and ends in the municipality of Bavispe, crossing mountain trails, paved roads, and scenic landscapes in northeastern Sonora. The race puts both the physical and mental endurance of its participants to the test.
Held from May 2 to 4, the event aims to promote sports in a region where road and mountain biking were introduced less than 15 years ago, yet have already led to the formation of local teams in communities such as Nogales, Cananea, Agua Prieta, and Cabullona. The race also seeks to attract cyclists from other parts of Mexico and the southern United States, promoting tourism and generating a positive economic impact in the region.
Over the course of three days, the APSON Tour was lived with strength, passion, and energy, featuring participants of all ages competing across various categories. A challenge for the brave — where the competitive spirit and love for cycling could be felt with every pedal stroke.
The event concluded with an award ceremony held at Plaza Plan de Agua Prieta.
