CCP Naco Nogales-Unisierra internship kick-off meeting and visits from the Instituto Tecnológico Superior

At this meeting, a study was made of the projects that would allow young graduates from the university to undertake internships and acquire tools for their future careers, entrepreneurship or postgraduate studies.

On Friday 11 May, industrial engineering students specialising in productivity and quality toured the plant to learn about the electricity generation processes, with a view to proposing an improvement project.

On 12 May, a virtual presentation of projects was held with biology students: greenhouse systems, collection of germplasm from species native to and endemic in the region, identification of algae in the water treatment process, environmental education, etc., that would allow them to be candidates for internships.

In addition, a group of electro–mechanical engineering students at the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Cananea visited the plant to learn about electricity generation processes in order to develop a collaboration that would also enable a similar collaboration with this institution in the short term.

“Collaborations between higher education and business allow us to bring together two views on reality and help to generate proposals for change in a region like ours; it is intelligence at the service of opportunities for the next generation.” Guillebaldo Lavandera Barrera (PhD in Science)
