In Mexico, the companies belonging to the Mexican Wind Energy Association (AMDEE) carried out joint actions to commemorate the day: children’s drawing competitions in 2020 and 2019.
In 2021, 2022 and 2023 we participated in the “My life and the wind” photo contest, which has become a tradition and is attended by photographers from different states of Mexico.
The project coordinators of Nacanu’ Bií and our wind farm Bií Hioxo carried out activities related to renewable energies with the participation of children from Cristóbal Colón primary school from the Seventh Section and Playa Vicente.
Among the various activities, the film “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” was shown in Nacanu’ Bií with the collaboration of the DIF (National System for Integral Family Development), and attended by children, neighbours and passers-by. Some neighbours set up their own chairs to watch and engage with the screening. The film sparked much reflection and analysis during the ensuing discussion.
