Celebrating Mother’s Day in Oaxaca, Mexico

Our Nacanu’ Bií Community Relations Centre led the the first traditional calenda (a parade accompanied by music and dance) through some of the streets of the Seventh Section and invited the local population to join in this great celebration.

The route was laid out with the intention of showcasing the work being done in our workshops to the community. A sign with the logo of our Bií Hioxo wind farm was carried along the route to show that the company makes it possible for these events with a great social impact to benefit society.

To conclude, a reception was held in the Nacanu’ Bií centre that gave way to a civic ceremony prepared by all the children with presentations of regional dances and pre-Columbian songs. Gifts sponsored by Bií Hioxo were presented to the 126 people who attended.

Through actions like these by Naturgy, through Bií Hioxo, we offer services to our main stakeholders while contributing to the promotion and preservation of Zapotec traditions and cultures.
