On July 27th, a Community Open Day to update the Upper Lachlan Shire community on the progress of the Crookwell 3 wind farm was hosted by GPG Australia to address any queries they had regarding the project.
The event featured five informative tables, namely Planning, Construction, Environment, Grid Connection and Community Engagement, to ensure accurate and up-to-date information delivery.
Crookwell 3 wind farm is an approved 16-turbine wind farm project situated in the NSW Southern Tablelands, approximately 17km southeast of Crookwell township and 25km northwest of Goulburn. The project represents the second stage of the Crookwell 2 Wind Farm and has been under construction since October 2022. Operations are expected to commence in Q2 2024. A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed with Telstra to procure 80% of the energy generated by the wind farm in June 2021.
The event was attended by local community members, Upper Lachlan Shire Mayor and councillors. Our GPG Team, key contractors and consultants involved in the project, including Divall’s Group and RJE (civil and electrical contractors), Vestas (wind turbine supply, install, operations and maintenance contractor), Transgrid (transmission network service provider), and Ecology Consulting (environmental consultant) were present to engage with attendees.
