ConectAUS Breakfast – An event to bring Spain and Australia closer together

On the morning of 19 November, we held a very special breakfast at the Ágora on Avenida América with the young professionals from GPG Australia who work remotely from Madrid.

The event, designed specifically for them and aimed at fostering a closer connection between the two countries, created a relaxed space to talk, share experiences, and exchange ideas.

To make it more dynamic, we prepared an interactive activity that helped break the ice and ensured everyone felt included from the very beginning. Thanks to this activity, attendees were able to introduce themselves in a more personal way, share the projects they are working on, the roles they play, and their aspirations, opening the door to honest and collaborative dialogue.

The meeting became an excellent opportunity to ask questions, debate, clarify doubts, provide feedback, and discuss real needs to improve collaboration, all in a very open and transparent tone. Koki Sánchez (People and Resources), Pedro Serrano (Australia Director), Ricardo Carballo (GPG Australia Engineering), and Francisco Bustío (GPG CEO) participated actively, responding and engaging with the young professionals at all times.

During the Q&A session — with questions raised in both directions — key topics were addressed, such as:

• What facilitates collaboration
• What we could improve to feel more connected
• What motivates us about international work

To close the session, Koki and Francisco offered a few words of appreciation, reinforcing the importance of maintaining the energy, openness, and engagement shown throughout the event.

Sharing a breakfast with part of the young Australia team has been an enriching experience. Spaces like this allow us to speak openly, address concerns, and discover the value of each person beyond the day-to-day. I am impressed by the energy, curiosity, and commitment they demonstrate. These moments reinforce our culture of collaboration and encourage us to keep growing together, connecting talent and purpose” – said Pedro Serrano, Australia Director.
