On Wednesday 22nd November , a collaboration agreement was signed between the Bií Hioxo wind farm and the Instituto Tecnológico del Istmo, which will allow students from the university to carry out social service and professional residencies in the wind sector and in the area of community development. These will last 480 hours or a period of 6 months, thus contributing to the professional and educational development of the students.
Present at the signing of the agreement were Daniel Ibarra Amador, in charge of the Bií Hioxo wind farm; Daniela Yolanda Mayoral Sánchez, in charge of the Nacanu’ Bií Community House and, on behalf of the Instituto Tecnológico del Istmo: the deputy director of Administrative Services, Homero Gutiérrez Blas, accompanied by the deputy director of Academics, Osiris Martínez Jiménez.
Through these actions, GPG creates a rapport with its stakeholders, giving way to the exchange of experiences and implementation of good practices, essential in a world that demands knowledge and consolidation of values.
Visit to the Bií Hioxo Wind Farm by students of Renewable Energy Engineering from the Universidad del Istmo as part of actions relating to institutions in the region
On 24 November 2023 a group of 15 students arrived at the wind farm’s South Substation led by Dr. Jesús Antonio Enríquez Santiago, a lecturer at this university, who intends to carry out guided visits to different renewable energy companies to complement the knowledge taught in the classroom.
As part of the activities, there was a talk in which some specifications, the operation of the wind turbines and general aspects of the wind farm were explained by the engineer Reynaldo Castillo Alonso. He also shared some of the work being carried out with the Juchiteca community through its model of Community Development and the axes focused on the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Furthermore, they were able to visit the inside of a wind turbine under the supervision of anOperation and Maintenance technicianwhere they observed the parts that make up a turbine, the protocols and safety measures for their operation.
