A day of unity and vision in the Australian Capital Territory: driving growth and team cohesion at GPA Australia.
The beautiful premises of The Truffle Farm located in the Australian Capital Territory recently hosted the 2024 GPG Australia Corporate Team Building Event. With a busy agenda, the main purposes of the day were to strengthen the bonds within the team, provide an opportunity to get to know everyone a bit better, and to learn about the GPG Board Members and their objectives for the company in Australia.
The event gathered over 60 employees with 19 different nationalities from various Australian states and international management guests. Despite the chilly weather, the day was bright, starting with a warm welcome and a meditation, followed by a motivational speech, team-building activities, and a truffle hunt, which was much enjoyed by everyone! These activities were interspersed with delicious meals throughout the day.
The corporate part of the day offered insights into the Development, Operations, and Finance areas, led by their Heads: Shaq Mohajerani, Gema Deus, and Gustavo Fedelich. Employees also had the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with Pedro Serrano (Managing Director Australia), Alfonso Egaña (Chief Financial Officer), and Francisco Bustío (CEO of GPG), who also delivered a closing speech to wrap up a highly successful day for the GPG Australia team.
Francisco Bustío wanted to conclude the day by highlighting two clear objectives:
“In the short term, we must bring all new power plants into operation this year, start construction on new ones, and consolidate the existing platform. This platform will no longer be primarily focused on growth but will be positioned as an integrated platform with Operational and Construction assets.”
“In the medium term, our goal is to optimize for the future. We must take the lessons learned from the past in the Development phase and apply them as we grow in Operations. Additionally, it is crucial to optimize our financial structure now that we have sufficient critical mass. All of this will lay the foundation for profitable and sustainable growth.”
Additionally, some colleagues wanted to share their experiences of the day with us:
“I am absolutely delighted with the success of our event! Seeing how everything went so smoothly has been incredibly rewarding. I am very satisfied that there was this opportunity to connect and interact with our international management team. The enthusiasm and participation of the entire team were crucial in making this event shine,” commented Juana Muñoz.

The day not only strengthened internal relationships but also underscored the company’s commitment to sustainable growth and long-term success in Australia.
