GPG Australia celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work

World Day for Safety and Health at Work was introduced globally in 2003 by the International Labour Organization and has since been adopted by Safe Work Australia as a nationally recognised day to highlight the importance of preventing accidents and transmittable diseases at work.

To celebrate the day, the employees from GPG Australia started the morning with a morning tea to discuss safety at work. They also enjoyed some personalised biscuits with the GPG logo and World Health and Safety Day date.

On a global scale, the increasing work-related injury and fatality statistics amplify the importance of capitalizing on the International Labour Organization’s traditional strengths of cooperation, consultation, negotiation, and compromise, via social dialogue and increasing awareness.

“Each one of us play a vital role in fostering an environment where everyone feels secure and protected. Whether we’re working on-site or in the office, our awareness and commitment to safety practices can make a significant difference. It is essential that we communicate openly about hazards, share our experiences, and learn from one another. If you see something that could pose a risk, speak up! Everybody’s voice is powerful and can prevent accidents and save lives”said Kirsty Levings, WHSEQ & Compliance Manager- Operations at GPGA
