GPG Costa Rica donates books to schools in Turrialba (Turrialba, Costa Rica)

This year, GPG reaffirmed its commitment to education by making a significant donation of textbooks to five educational centers in the Turrialba region of Costa Rica, a community neighboring the Torito hydroelectric plant. A total of 307 children between the ages of 6 and 12 benefited from this initiative, receiving 958 textbooks.

This donation is not just a material contribution—it directly impacts the learning and development of children, particularly those whose parents work in agriculture and whose limited income makes it difficult to purchase educational materials. For many students, these books are not merely study tools; they are windows to knowledge and a chance to dream of a better future.

The support reached five schools in the region, with textbooks in Mathematics, Spanish, Science, and Social Studies distributed to primary school children. Preschool students received early learning and pre-writing materials.

The delivery of materials was certified by the heads of each institution, ensuring that the books reached the students who needed them most.

The true value of this donation is reflected in the words of those who work daily to educate these children. Karen Araya, from Rafael Araya Segura School, highlighted that the books help address academic topics more effectively and support the development of learning indicatorsAlba Campos, from Peralta School, noted that access to resources is limited and that this donation greatly facilitates the educational process both in and outside the classroom.

Each page of the donated books carries the message that effort and dedication can open new paths. For many of these children—some of whom have never left their immediate community—receiving these materials is a way to explore the world and imagine new possibilities.
