December 5th was proclaimed International Volunteer Day by the United Nations, and GPG Mexico marked the occasion with activities at the Bií Hioxo wind farm and the Tuxpan III and IV CCC plants.
At the Bií Hioxo wind farm (Juchitán, Oaxaca), participants organised a day dedicated to cleaning and sorting waste at the Polideportivo in the Lorenza Santiago neighbourhood.
After collecting the materials, they were used in a workshop on compost production.

At the Tuxpan III/IV CCC plant, volunteers helped complete the construction of a nesting pen — a project initiated by the Nakú Kayám Turtle Camp — and took part in an urban birdwatching workshop held in the San Basilio conservation area.
Additionally, with support from the Veracruz Institute of Ecology and experts Bernardo Morales and Mauricio Hernández, participants attended a session on the importance of local wildlife and its protection.

Between both locations, more than 63 volunteers and municipal representatives took part, all motivated by the desire to become agents of change within their communities. GPG Mexico has fully supported these initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and helping raise awareness in the communities where it operates.
