Naturgy has helped with the reconstruction of the house of culture, toilets and the multimodal court of the Santa Martha Children’s Recreation Centre (CRI) in Juchitán de Zaragoza (Mexico). A new outdoor gym and a children’s playground have also been installed.
The centre is located in the heart of the Seventh Section, a neighbourhood where many families live in a situation of vulnerability. This area, close to the Bií Hioxo Wind Farm, was badly hit by the 2017 earthquake, which is why repair work and social work with the community continue today.
The recreation centre is an emblematic place for local residents and its reconstruction has special relevance because it means reviving a focal point that promotes the social cohesion of the area.
Over the three months of repairs, the Santa Martha CRI has been transformed into a new recreation space for the area’s residents and, from now on, nearly 400 students will benefit from the new facilities.
Through the Bií Hioxo wind farm, Naturgy reaffirms its interest in people and its commitment to the community, as well as enhancing health and well-being by promoting a dignified place for people to meet and share.
