Sobral I and Sertao I celebrate seven years in operation (Piauí, Brazil)

Last 7 September marked the seventh anniversary of the start of operations of the two photovoltaic plants in the state of Piauí in north-eastern Brazil.

On 3 August, a celebration was held, which began with a congratulatory video by José Cros, Director of Renewables Latam Operations, in which he recognised the commitment and effort by all employees in achieving the leading position in Brazil with these two photovoltaic plants as the best in the country. He also invited them to act as one great team for operations to continue on this path.

After these congratulations, the employees had breakfast and shared a commemorative cake.

In the evening, during the party that brought together collaborators, representatives of the Quilombola communities, scholarship holders of the Solidarity Day project in Piauí, managers and those in charge of the operations enjoyed music, community building and above all the joy of this type of celebration.

The Sobral I photovoltaic plant, located in the state of Piauí, has an installed capacity of 35.13 MW and more than 118,000 solar modules.

The Sertao I photovoltaic plant, also located in the state of Piuaí, has an installed capacity of 35.16 MW and more than 119,000 modules.

Both plants have been in commercial operation since 2017 and both projects are equipped with solar tracking systems, allowing the panels to follow the path of the sun throughout the day, maximising sunlight collection and energy production.
