The CCP Tuxpan III and IV hosts a visit for scholarship students at its facilities (Veracruz, Mexico)

The Combined Cycle Power Plant Tuxpan III and IV organized a guided tour through its facilities for the young scholarship students participating in the “Día Solidario Voy a la Universidad” program.

The students were welcomed by engineer Carlos Villegas Aguirre and guided by engineer Francisco José Cerezo Herrera.

The tour began in the plant’s boardroom, where the students were greeted with a detailed presentation about the functioning of the combined cycle system. The presentation included explanations about the energy production capacity of the plant, highlighting that this facility is the third-largest and most significant of its kind in Mexico in terms of energy production.

Additionally, the presentation covered the plant’s years of operation, the required maintenance, its frequencythe number of staff involved, and the personnel required during maintenance periods.

Subsequently, the tour continued through the engine maintenance warehouse and storage area, with the visitors properly equipped with safety gear. During this stage, they observed the gas pipelines, turbines, boilers, water storage tanks, air filters, power plant, and the seawater channel from which water is extracted.

Throughout the visit, the students asked questions about the various points of interest, concluding in the control and operations room. There, they were shown the various activities conducted 24 hours a day, all year round, to ensure the plant operates efficiently.

At the end of the tour, a social gathering took place where the students shared a meal and exchanged their impressions of the day.

“I had no idea about everything that goes on at the plant and how the combined cycle system works. I’m really amazed, and I enjoyed this visit” said Mari Carmen

“I found it very interesting to see how a power plant operates since I was unaware of its functionality and importance. I was particularly impressed by the command center and how they have to stay alert to all the codes and operate 24/7, 365 days a year. I leave here impressed with everything they do” shared Jimena

This visit to the plant is very meaningful to me, as it motivates me to keep striving in university and hopefully work in a plant like this one someday expressed Nuria

“Thank you very much for inviting us. I’m thrilled because, through the scholarship, I feel part of this great team that is GPG and the Tuxpan plant” said Adamaris Bautista
