The PMGD Milán Photovoltaic Plant installs solar panels at the Molina Higher Agricultural School in Chile

The plant, operated by GPG Generación Distribuida Spa, has fulfilled one of the voluntary environmental commitments established in its Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA No. 89/2020) by installing a photovoltaic system at the Bicentennial School of Agricultural Excellence in Molina (Maule Region).

Between October and November of this year, the project was carried out, consisting of the installation of a solar system designed to power the school’s irrigation pumps, with both educational and productive objectives. This initiative aims to promote the use of renewable energy, reduce dependence on conventional sources, and generate a positive impact on the school community.

The official handover of the system took place on 20 November, with students, teachers, and technical staff in attendance.

During the event, a training session on safe operation and maintenance was also provided, reinforcing the educational nature of the project and enabling students to become familiar with the practical use of solar energy.

Educational and environmental impact of the project

• Students will be able to learn first-hand how a photovoltaic system works and how it can be applied to agricultural activities.

• The school will strengthen its energy independenceoptimising consumption and reducing irrigation-related costs.

• Sustainability will become a key educational resource in agricultural training, promoting responsible and future-oriented practices.

This initiative represents a concrete contribution to local development and technical education, reaffirming GPG’s commitment to sustainability and support for the communities where we operate.
