This is how the XI Intercentral Games Hermosillo 2025 were (Sonora, Mexico)

A year of pause to take off again! With this motto, from February 12 to 14the XI GPG LATAM Intercentral Games were held in San Carlos, Sonora, organized by the Hermosillo combined cycle power plant.

This location, once a pilgrimage site for the YaquiSeri, and Guaymas peoples, is home to the Tetakawi Hill (in the Yaqui language, “Teta Cagui”, meaning “stone hill” or “split hill”), which, along with its bay, makes it one of the most spectacular oceanic viewpoints in the world.

The power plants of DurangoTuxpan III and IVLa CaridadNaco NogalesPuerto Ricothe Dominican RepublicRenewables (a combination of the Bií Hioxo wind farm, the Torito hydroelectric plant in Costa Rica, and Panama), and, as is tradition, a delegation from Grupo México, joined the host team from the Hermosillo power plant in a gathering filled with sports, unity, and shared values.

The nine delegations enjoyed an unparalleled environment, with sports activities and moments of camaraderie that strengthened the team spirit. This year, in addition to the traditional football and volleyball disciplines, a rally was introduced with great success, testing teamwork and collaboration.

As part of this event, the teachers from Escuela Nueva Creación joined the rally as a show of appreciation for the support received from GPG LATAM.

Beyond the competition, attendees enjoyed Sonora’s typical gastronomy, with a selection of local dishes, and had the opportunity to witness an unforgettable sunset over the Sea of Cortez aboard boats that toured the bay. The closing day was marked by a great celebration where fun and sportsmanship reigned.

These games are an opportunity to strengthen bondsshare experiences, and live the company’s values both on and off the field.
