During the awareness-raising activity they had the opportunity to release olive ridley turtle hatchlings that had hatched that morning and received a talk entitled “Who are we and what is conservation?,” where they were provided with information about the turtle species that nest on Villamar beach, their life cycle, nest incubation and the importance of the temperature for embryonic development.
They also had the opportunity to meet the volunteers involved in monitoring, including some of the ‘Día Solidario’ (Charity Day) scholarship holders.
