The Bií Hioxo Wind Farm, in collaboration with its Community Relation House “Nacanu’ Bií” and the Instituto Tecnológico del Istmo (ITI), carried out the planting of 60 plants on the institution’s grounds last Friday, 19 April.
This activity, driven by a commitment to implement programmes that promote sustainability and environmental stewardship, was part of the “A Day for My Tec” programme organised by the ITI and led by the lecturer at this institution, Juan José Rementería Orozco. The semiannual goal is to encourage care and cleanliness of the infrastructure, as well as the restoration of green spaces.
Both staff and students participated in this initiative, benefiting the student body, which comprises 3,400 individuals.
The Bií Hioxo Wind Farm supported this initiative by donating and helping to plant the 60 plants.
- 12 almond trees
- 7 oak trees
- 20 mango trees
- 21 neem trees
All these plants were transplanted with the help of students in various areas, particularly in arid areas that are expected to eventually create green and recreational spaces.
In addition to this, the Bií Hioxo Wind Farm (PEBH) provided snacks and a hydration space for all participants due to the area’s high temperatures.
Efforts like these help to reduce the planet’s carbon footprint and underscore GPG’s commitment to community wellbeing, educational institutions, and the broader environment.
