GPG signs contract with Senvion to supply 89 turbines in Chile

GPG has signed a contract with Senvion and Grupo Ibereólica Renovables in Huasco (Chile) for the supply of 89 turbines with a total capacity of approximately 204.7 MW.

The turbines, which have been installed in the desert province of Atacama in northern Chile, are optimised to operate in places where wind intensity is low and climate conditions are extreme. Implementation will begin in early 2020 and assembly will conclude that same year in order to complete the Cabo Leones II Wind Farm.

“This agreement forms part of the GPG Development Plan establishing a growth strategy to speed up the creation of value by developing a combination of technologies under rapid development, such as renewables, as well as investment in growing markets, with Chile among the priority nations”, said Jose Enrique Auffray, Business Development Manager for GPG in the Andes region.
