GPG México sponsor workshops for volunteers at the turtle camp in Tuxpan

So far this year, more than 100 ridley sea turtles (Lepidochelys kempii) have nested on these beaches. At least four nests of green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) and two of hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) have been located and are waiting at the camp to mature and expect the first hatchlings soon.

In may, a workshop was held with young volunteers from the three beaches. The aim was to provide them with a space for active listening, fostering teamwork and planning for the continuation of the season, which will continue for a few more months.

These are examples of initiatives in which GPG México plays an active role in protecting submarine life, through building strong bonds with local communities.
