Information Open Day held by GPG Australia about Palings Yards wind farm

GPG Australia was pleased to engage with local community and to hear their interests and perceptions about the project, prior to the lodgment of a Development Application and accompanying EIS with the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE). The Application will be subsequently exhibited for comments from agencies, members of the public and communities, before it is finally determined by DPE and a Development Consent is granted.

The project site is approximately mid-way between the regional cities of Goulburn and Oberon in NSW. The community information sessions were held at Black Springs Community Hall, which is around 35 km north from the project site.

The sessions were an excellent opportunity to introduce the GPG Australia team who will oversee the project. The engagement was a constructive way to better understand community concerns as well as directly answer any questions.

GPG Australia team members were joined by a group of representatives from consultants involved in the project, which assisted our team in providing the local community with subject matter expert information about the project.

The key topics of interest for the local community were mainly focused on the status of the project, planning, visual impact, transmission lines, use of local roads and community benefits.

GPG Australia has a long-term owner-vision and is committed to regularly engaging and delivering value to the local community through the implementation of a Community Engagement and Benefit Sharing Plan.

The project is expected to generate considerable local employment opportunities during the construction phase and when the wind farm commence operations.
