Mexico: 25 years and looking to the future

The primary focus of the meeting centred around fostering greater integration and cohesiveness among the teams situated across various GPG sites located in Mexico.

The event was a meeting point for many of our Mexican colleagues who came from different parts of the country where the facilities are located: Mexico City and Monterrey, as well as GPG managers who travelled from Spain to share the experience.

The teams from the power plants, divisions and Energy Markets shared milestones achieved in the past year and targets to be achieved in 2023, and conducted an exercise to assess the Naturgy leadership model competencies each team has and those that need to be improved.

GPG Mexico’s team demonstrated an impressive level of dedication, enthusiasm and spirit through their collaborative effort, spearheaded by the active participation of all members.

Team-building activities were also carried out using the LEGO methodology, a technique to facilitate communication in meetings and the construction of ideas, which helps to resolve conflicts between individuals, teams and organisations in a more agile way.  This practice was instrumental in fostering team integration amongst the participating teams.

In the course of these days, the El Día Solidario project was also presented, with information about how it has developed since its foundation, as well as the projects currently in force in Mexico and their relationship with the community.

A colloquium was conducted with the GPG management team, in which they shared their track records and experience. The team provided detailed reports on their respective roles and responsibilities, outlining their vision for the year ahead and our future growth trajectory.

Finally, a special guest, Rubén Duque, international coach and technical director of the Mexican national rugby team, gave a motivational speech in which he challenged our colleagues to reflect on what our projects mean and how important it is to work together and with enthusiasm to achieve both individual and collective goals.

In our time together, we were able to build a stronger bond as teammates, and spend quality time together while sharing new experiences that further motivate us to keep moving forward.

We would like to thank all participants for their active engagement and extend our warmest congratulations to the exceptional team of GPG Mexico on achieving a remarkable milestone of 25 years of dedicated service with unwavering enthusiasm.

“Throughout the event you have shown that we are a great team and that with our commitment we are able to overcome each and every one of the challenges ahead of us”said Víctor Durango, head of the Energy Markets area.
