In order to give the children of Istmo de Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, access to a better education, we must create quality spaces where they can learn, play and have fun when they return to school facilities. This is the reason that motivated GPG Naturgy Group, through the Bií Hioxo Wind Farm, to renovate and improve the Reforma Educativa primary school, located in the fourth district of the city Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca.
Between 7 September and 14 October the Reforma Educativa primary school underwent an unprecedented transformation. The administrative areas and management offices were remodelled. They are now impeccable and boast a new colour, and the damage suffered in the earthquake in September 2017 was repaired. In addition, security was improved by reinforcing the school walls and installing a protective wire mesh perimeter fence.
But it doesn’t stop there… several new areas were installed for play, sport and dreams: a multi-use court and basketball backboard were installed, the volleyball courts were adapted and colourful games such as snakes and ladders and hopscotch were painted on the playground.
Building better spaces to give children access to a better quality education is one of GPG Naturgy Group’s big commitments to nearby communities.
